Zipline Las Vegas weight limit: 60 to 300 pounds, and the rule people forget

Almost everyone arriving at a zip line has thought about weight and almost nobody has thought about height. FLY LINQ publishes a maximum of six foot eight, and it is a real limit rather than a formality.

The reason is geometry. The harness holds you seated with your feet off the deck and the landing tower is 54 feet up, sixty feet lower than the launch. A rider who is too tall sits lower relative to the trolley and the clearances stop working.

Six foot eight is generous — it excludes very few adults — but if you are near it, measure before you travel across town. SlotZilla downtown publishes the same maximum, so there is no second door if the first one closes.

The minimum, three foot four, matters at the other end. It is roughly the height of an average five-year-old, and it is why the "no age limit" line is true but not the whole story.

Three hundred pounds is the ceiling on all three Las Vegas lines. Above it, nothing here will take you, and there is no phone call that changes it — unlike some helicopter operators, zip lines cannot sell you a second seat.

Sixty pounds is the FLY LINQ floor. Below it the trolley does not run reliably along the line and you would stop short of the landing tower, which is exactly the failure mode the limit exists to prevent.

If someone in your group is between fifty and sixty pounds, downtown is the answer. SlotZilla’s lower Zipline starts at fifty. Its upper Zoomline starts at eighty, so a light child who can ride the lower line cannot ride the upper one.

Expect to be weighed if you are visibly near either end. It is done at the tower, before you go up, and staff do it dozens of times a day without ceremony.
